What Is The Biblical Plan of Salvation?:
Calling on the Name of the Lord
1. What is so important about the Name of Jesus?
There is no other Name given to men, by which we must be saved.
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord
—Acts 4:12, Phillipians 2:10-1
2. The prophesy Promised:
Salvation will come by Calling on the Name of the Lord
—Joel 2:28-32
3. The Prophesy Fulfilled:
Salvation Has come by Calling on the Name of the Lord
—Acts 2:16-22
4. Men Answer the Prophesy:
Men Repented and were Baptized, to Call on the Name of the Lord
—Acts 2:36-39
5. The Conversion of Paul:
Washing away his sins, as he Called on the Name of the Lord
—Acts 22:14 -16
6. Confessing Jesus is also answering the Call:
Confessing the Name of the Lord, calling on the Name of the Lord
—Romans 10:9-13
7. The Only Biblical Plan of Salvation:
We are washed clean by God as we Call on the Name of the Lord
So we see that God's plan of salvation first includes belief in Jesus:
- Belief in His Virgin Birth,
- Belief in His life in the flesh,
- Belief in His atoning death,
- Belief in His bodily resurrection,
- Belief in His coming Return.
This Plan also includes repentance of sins, confession of faith,
and immersion.
The only concept that ties all these things together Biblically is:
Calling on the Name of the Lord.
This seems to be a very plain teaching,
particularly if you look closely at Paul's conversion in Acts 22:14-16.
Perhaps we should retire our denominational teachings and use a Biblical model,
since we are supposed to be known as people who speak where the Bible speaks.
IS THIS THE WAY YOU WERE SAVED? IF NOT, WHY NOT DO WHAT JESUS ASKS?
READ THE GOSPEL OF JOHN, CHAPTER THREE FOR A CLEARER UNDERSTANDING OF THIS CONCEPT.
