ETERNITY
eternity is big the biggest thing there is im not even sure god made it i know god inhabits it the old sermon illustration: you go eternity past - god is there eternity future - god is there im not sure there is a past or future there or time or distance but it is big so big it would take an eternity to see it all im not afraid of eternity god is there love is there and all good things there - no evil because god is love and he inhabits eternity eternity demands of us mimimal christianity maximal jesus church buildings/projects/efforts/books etc. all are nothing compared to eternity all that counts is souls jesus said before he entered eternity, go into all the world preach the good news he that believes and is baptized is saved he that believes not is damned eternity demands that this is all we do what else matters? if you have faith in jesus, this is easy otherwise go practice christianity but i think its a waste of time compared to eternity with god eternity demands of us sell our possessions give to poor - follow jesus this place is nothing this place is not eternity in a short moment - poof all gone dont worry - we will still eat and our family will be clothed and fed we are servants of the great king he promised to feed and clothe us here he promised us no home here - sorry he said our mansion waiting in eternity so follow jesus and preach good news have food and clothing here get used to no home here not a bad deal in exchange for eternity a home with jesus - with god the father some eternity is our destiny eternity with or without god our choice here: our choice now here we have infinity god made universe infinite to help us see the bigness of eternity difference between infinity and eternity infinity goes on forever - but it will end someday eternity goes on forever too - no end like i said eternity is big almost as big as god |
